Miscellaneous conditions

Although horses may be perceived as big, strong animals, they are still affected by many different ailments that as a horse owner, you should be aware of. Understanding how these various conditions can affect your horse and what you can do to help your horse while waiting for your vet to arrive, can literally make the difference between life and death.

Many conditions are treatable and your horse will make a full recovery - but a full recovery often depends on inital first aid treatment and prompt diagnosis and treatment from your vet, so if in doubt, if your horse looks under the weather, call your vet immediately.
