Heidi hails from Somerset in the Southwest of England. A typical West Country lass, she grew up on her parents fruit and vegetable farm enjoying the annual abundance of soft fruit and cider. She was a keen pony club and young farmer’s member from a young age, up until the world of work took over her life. She qualified in veterinary nursing from the University of Bristol Langford in 1995, leaving her mixed practice 2 years later to work solely with horses at Rossdale and Partners in Newmarket. She obtained the RCVS certificate in Equine Nursing in 2002 and worked her way up to being head nurse there. She joined Cotts Farm as Head Nurse in January 2009, bringing with her a wealth of experience and enthusiasm.
Lizzie Ward - professional biography
I grew up in Bromley with as many pets as I could manage to sneak home past my Dad. I worked at a livery yard at weekend until at 16 I completed a national diploma in horse management at Plumpton College. Returning home I survived a brief stint in retail before getting a job at a local riding school working towards BHS qualifications. After assisting vets on various cases on the yard I decided to look for a job as a veterinary nursing. I have been working in a mixed practice (although mostly equine based) for the last 3 years and hope to qualify as an EVN summer 2011. I don’t have much spare time with all the studying I have to do but I love horse riding and other outdoor activities.
