Job Role: Country Equine Veterinary Surgeon
Join Cotts. We have room for a road vet, who will be both supported and given autonomy and access to an extensive caseload amongst the world’s friendliest clients.
Our RCVS accredited hospital and three teams in Pembrokeshire, Swansea and Bridgend provide the highest clinical standards of veterinary care to West and South Wales. We are prompt, professional and approachable in our comprehensive ambulatory 1st opinion practice which includes advanced stud medicine and performance horse work.
We have expert surgical and medical referral services at Wales’ first and only Equine Hospital.

This is a rare opportunity to join our elite Pembrokeshire Ambulatory Team. You will live the breathtaking scenery of 186 miles of coast with the challenge of visiting all 99 beaches. Pembrokeshire has affordable living costs and no traffic jams, and Cotts is 90 minutes to Cardiff Airport and 35 minutes to the M4. We are a holiday resort with a Coastal National park that hosts Ironman Wales, climbing, fishing and a strong National Hunt racing fraternity.
There is also an opportunity to join our expanding Swansea Ambulatory Team, where the scenery of the Gower and Black Mountain is no less beautiful with the added hub-bub of Swansea and faster links to the M4.
Cotts has a transparent incremental remuneration scheme. New graduates would start on £27k, increasing by £1000 each year qualified and £500 for each year at Cotts and £2500 for a certificate and £1000-2500 for a previous internship and a car allowance of £3k plus mileage claims. 5 days CPD with expenses paid and 5 week’s holiday plus bank holidays on a 1 in 4 rota with 2 lieu days per 4-week cycle. Our philosophy is to offer enough flexibility around an 8 hour day to allow everyone to do something to make them happy, and extra income is earned if turnover exceeds overheads, but this is not encouraged if the extra work detracts from happiness.
