Are you passionate about supporting the equine veterinary sector and ensuring that critical supplies are always available when needed? Join our dedicated team at Cotts Equine; an established equine veterinary hospital offering expert care for horses and ponies across South and West Wales with branches in Narberth, Swansea and Cardiff.
We are currently seeking a Pharmacist/Stock Controller to manage and oversee the inventory of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment used in the day-to-day operations of our hospital and clinics. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting our veterinary team and ensuring the smooth running of our services.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate records of stock levels and monitor inventory trends.
Order, receive, and check deliveries of veterinary medicines, consumables, and equipment.
Ensure all stock is stored in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.
Conduct regular stock audits and ensure accurate reporting to management.
Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
Coordinate with the veterinary and clinical teams to ensure correct supplies are always available.
Monitor expiration dates and ensure timely stock rotation.
Manage the pharmacy and maintain a tidy and organised environment.
Assist in the management of controlled drugs, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in stock control, inventory management, or a related role.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of the equine industry or veterinary sector is desirable but not essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment.
