James Whitmore

BVetMed MRCVS

Originally from North Staffordshire, James qualified in veterinary medicine and surgery from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in July 2014. Following graduation, James joined Cotts to start his equine internship. Staying on after completion of his internship, he moved from Narberth to Cowbridge to develop the fledgling practice in the surrounding area alongside John. They have since seen it go from strength to strength. James joined the practice as a director in April 2022.

James is currently completing a post-graduate certificate to become an advanced veterinary practitioner in equine lameness diagnosis and therapeutics.

Having grown up riding and enjoying competing with British Eventing as well as hunting with the North Staffordshire Hunt before starting at university, he still enjoys riding in his spare time, as well as fitness and travel.

In his words…

"The team at Cotts are like a second family to me (mainly because I spend more time with them than my family), but I’m incredibly proud of the level of care and compassion shown to clients and patients by our entire team."
