What to expect during your stay

You will receive regular updates during your horse’s stay, especially at critical times. We will call you as soon as the horse stands up after any anaesthetics or other major treatment. We will also provide regular updates thereafter to ensure that you are kept completely up to date. Please remember that sometimes things get unexpectedly busy. For routine updates, please work on the principle that no news is good news. We will contact you without delay at any time if anything of concern happens.

You can also call the surgery during office hours 8.30am – 5.30pm should you have any further questions and our reception team will facilitate the vet contacting you. If you would like more, or fewer updates, please advise the lead vet/team member.

Discharge

When it’s time to send your horse home, the vet will talk you through the aftercare procedure and any follow up treatment required. We are flexible on timings, so please talk to the vet in charge about this if you have limitations on timings.
