Job Opportunity - Equine Ambulatory Vet
Seeking to improve your work / life balance? Then look no further! We are seeking a full-time equine vet for ambulatory work in the Swansea area, ideally with at least 2 years’ experience. You will be a key part of Wales’ first and only RCVS accredited equine hospital-backed team, delivering independent veterinary care at the highest level.
We are looking for:
A keen, well-motivated individual. The successful candidate will be based at our practice near Swansea; one of our three clinics along the South Wales corridor. You will have the full support of the other experienced ambulatory vets within the team, as well as European-boarded specialists in both surgery and internal medicine based at our RCVS accredited Tier-3 Hospital in Narberth. They are always available on the phone to back you up! Regular journal club and M&M meetings contribute positively to our open and supportive ethos, and we equally encourage clinical freedom and case continuity.
We provide a prompt, professional and comprehensive service for our clients, whilst remaining approachable and friendly. We provide the support for personal growth; fund and encourage CPD and continually re-invest in personnel and equipment to provide the very best experience for both our vets and clients. As the practice continues to expand there are plans to further develop our facilities. Our remuneration pay-scale rewards both experience and length of service, with bonuses for certificate holders and previous internships together with a generous benefits package.
Our client base is very diverse, allowing personal interests to be explored and expanded, although an interest in lameness would be useful. We provide veterinary cover for Ffos Las racecourse and a number of Point-To-Points therefore registration with ARVS and completion of the CMS, or an interest in doing so, would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
Salary range of £28,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
Car allowance of £3k pa plus mileage.
Matrix bonus scheme rewarding not only turnover, but also other core value skills. For example: such as working well within the team and excellent client care

30.5 days holiday including bank holidays
VDS, RCVS and BEVA subscriptions fully paid.
Mobile phone and tablet device supplied for full use.
WPA healthcare package.
CPD allowance of £1500 per annum.
Full funding and support for certificates if desired.
Swansea is fortunate to have the beautiful Gower peninsula on its doorstep, but is also centrally placed for convenient access along the South Wales M4 corridor: with the thriving city of Cardiff, the Brecon Beacons and the diverse scenery of the valleys to the East, and the breath-taking Pembrokeshire coastline to the west, all within an hour’s drive. Outdoor pursuits are high on the agenda as a result, with a wide range of outdoor sports available.
